Harvest

It was like Millet's The Gleaners. Well, we weren't actually the marginalized poor harvesting the leftovers, we were harvesting our crops for canning.

This year's harvest wasn't as extensive as last year's but it felt impressive when we put it all together.

Out tomatoes were luscious and so, so good. I can't think of anything better than eating a tomato that is so fresh it's hot from the sun.

Hi Casandra,

I happened to stumble across your website, blog, today, and I just want to let you know it was so refreshing to find someone with similar life experiences. I grew my first tomatoes here in Utah this year and I felt such a great amount of accomplishment. I am a mother of four, my oldest daughter recently marrying into the Mormon faith as we all are members. I stay home but am very actively involved at 44 learning who I am. I guess my age had something to do with the journey. Anyway, you go girl! I just adore the present moment painting! It is my favorite!
