I saw it the other day and was completely inspired. I think about your doves and laugh. I think about "fitting a mold" and I not only agree, but am grateful for your reminder. Thanks for doing this. You are truly affecting.
I enjoyed watching your profile. What your wrote about people saying you don't look like a Mormon resonated with me - I get that all the time. (I think they expect polygamy hair and prairie dresses.)
I'll admit I was bit leery when I heard all the buzz about the new site. It felt a bit gimmicky, but it looks like they've done a great job. I'd be curious about your take on it, because it really seems they held back on editing and tried not to sanitize it too much.
I loved learning about Jeff Decker (seriously, how can you not love somebody that's part of the Sinners Motorcycle Club?), Alex Boye, Rose Dall, and Josh Maready. Great picks for the profiles, but man I've got to step up my game - uber achievers all of you!
I have thoroughly enjoyed getting a peek into your world. Your art, your kittens, your testimony are all incredibly inspiring. Thank you for having the courage to not only share what you love but also the valor to live what you believe!
Thanks for the comments! Thanks for the posts on blogs too. I almost said no when they asked me to do this, I thought, no way, I'm so not the perfect Mormon. But when I learned more about it, I was really pleased to be a part of it. It did feel more real. I have more to say but I've got kittens who aren't in bed yet. Night games again?! Cheers!
I know this post is old, but I just have to tell you that I go back and watch your video on mormon.org a lot. The part where you say, "I used to think that there was a thing that I was supposed to be that I didn't quite fit, and one day I realized I totally made that up.. that God wants me to be an individual, but doing that with what I've been given" totally resonated with me. I laugh every time when you talk about making that up, because I think we all make things up in our minds about what we think is expected of us - but just the way you said it was so genuine and likable and it was refreshing.
Then tonight as I was watching it again I noticed you have a blog to follow! So excited. I'm happy to "get to know you" a bit better through your writing. Thanks for sharing yourself.

How does it feel to be a Mormon celeb?

Just found your work and blog via mormon.org. Love your profile and your artwork.
Oh, I just have to add, I love your green sofa!
Nate and I really enjoyed yours and the other videos. What a neat thing.
I absolutely loved your video profile! I almost forgot that I did one, too (sans video). I think it's a great interactive tool for the church.
