I have work to get done. I have a painting due in Alberta today, a painting do at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts in a few weeks, my pieces for Art Access and I really want to finish the big ballet painting for the Spring Salon at Springville Museum of Art. I tried working in my studio today but my throat started to hurt in a little less than an hour. Is it all in my head? Maybe.
Still, it made me nervous, so after drinking three cups of detox tea, I set up in the dining room.
It's kind of nice, in a way. The only thing that makes me a little uncomfortable is that feeling of being exposed, out in the open.
I hung this tin devil's mask on the back of my easel. I had an evil eye but it's high over my studio door. I thought this would do the same thing. I'm feeling a bit vulnerable with this crazy sickness so I am taking every precaution to ward of evil.

so wait...how are you cleaning your brushes now?? i'm so frightened. i have the biggest ol' thing of liquin you've ever seen.
well, last night I used a little walnut oil to get most of the paint off then dish soap. This isn't the best way if I'm using lots of brushes. I just bought some citric thinner by eco-house. I haven't tried it yet.
Pam, you don't eat sugar and I'm guessing that you don't drink diet coke all day so you are probably so much healthier to start with. Athsma guy is the only thing I'd watch.
Send me photos of the ballet painting with a list of flowers as soon as it's done! I have so many ideas!

Shampoo is supposed to be kinder to your bristles. Just cheap, basic shampoo without vitamins, extracts, etc. Tell me (us) how the citrus thinner works out.
I don't think your sore throat is in your head. When you're detoxing it can feel like you're getting worse. It sounds like you are taking good steps in the right direction.
