If I had had a son, I've said for years that I'd want him to be a sweet as
Jethro. His show, Glory and Woe, opens tomorrow night as part of the SLC gallery stroll. Go see it! I'm also looking forward to seeing the work of an artist named
Amy Abshier Reyes at Kayo. I've seen her work on the
Blue Gallery website where I have a few pieces as well.

I totally understand why you'd dig Amy's work. I was reading your comments on her blog and it gets weirder. The artist answered your comment, and the comment after that is an artist whose work I've seen recently, and I thought "Cass should see this..." Check out:

She makes dolls, and the dolls come with little doll self-portraits.
Nigel- I like the dolls. I always want to make figures too. Do you ever do that sort of thing?
I want my paintings to look like dolls sometimes and I really like voodoo dolls too.
What are you working on?
Did you like the little doll portraits that came with the dolls?
I've seriously considered articulated, wooden, angel figures. Fine art action figures? I collect toys, so I wonder if the angel figures come from a much too geeky place.
I still think you should do the plush mummies and coptic jars with plush guts.
I'm working on strange figures, part animal/part angel, for a group show in Calif.
