The Big News

Ernst Collector's Gallery was one of the first galleries to take a chance and invite me out for a show in 2003 or 2004. I think I only had one fan, her name was Rhonda. She gave me confidence and her enthusiasm spread. The gallery was generous and Cannon Beach became a favorite place for my family. It feels good to be there. I've never been to another gallery where I could stay in the gallery all week long, painting and meeting new people. Recently, the doors of Ernst were closed. I'm grateful to them for some good memories, friendships, and all that I learned while working with them.

Oh and indeed it is true that when one door closes, another door opens. Every time I've visited Cannon Beach, I've gone into Bronze Coast Gallery where I have been greeted by Kim and Melisa, who are fantastic. The gallery is sophisticated with several artist's work I've been interested in.
I'm excited to announce that they will soon be representing my work. Cheers!

I'm so happy for you! Glad that things will work out. When will your show be? Still in May?

At the end of every Passover seder everyone says, "Next year in Jerusalem!"

I say: Next year in Cannon Beach!

(If I'm still invited.)

I'm so sad! We loved the Ernst gallery in Seaside. I never made it to Canon Beach. I assume they're both closed? Mavis was delightful to work with and having been alienated by our "local" Greenwich gallery when they turned into complete snobs after years of our loyal patronage, we considered Ernst "our" gallery.

This economy sucks. I'm distressed at the casualties, and it's certainly slowed our acquisition of art.

I'm glad Bronze Coast is going to work with you. I hope they're wonderful.

A year from May I'll have a show. Really though, the pieces I was doing for this years show will be in the Bronze Coast Gallery.

Hey Kate...Next year in Cannon Beach!

Laura- Mavis has been a trooper. She's a good gal and who knows what will happen from here. I'll find somebody good to take care of you.

I was very glad to hear that KIm has picked up your work. I would have loved to have it at William Rose, had we stayed in Oregon.

I would still like to talk to you about showing your work in San Diego/Laguna Beach.

Good luck at Bronze Coast.

Oh I am so sad that you aren't going to make it to Cannon Beach this year!! I was really looking forward to the show. I was going to make the trip out for your workshop in March but couldn't swing it but held onto May. That a super bummer. I will have to drive out to a show in Utah. When I can.....we will miss you this year! Ernst Galley was the first place I discovered your artwork and I am sad to see them go.

I'm glad you are still in Cannon beach.
Sorry to hear about Earnst and Earnst, I used to show there and have purchased a number of painting from them including one of yours last year.
See you at the new location.
come down to Dragonfire Gallery on the South side of town and see me.

Next show will be May 2010. I hope Kate will be there. The ecomony is tough but that's now why the gallery closed. They had a financial situation that I can't talk about. I'd like to have artwork in San Diego so keep in touch. I'm taking all of this one step at a time. Lauren, I'll post workshops as I go. I'd love to meet you. Michael, didn't I meet you last year? I'll come by Dragon Fire for sure. I've heard good things about the gallery and am sorry about their recent loss.

Thanks to all of you. I'm sorting what to send where and picking life up from a new place. I'm working hard and trying to roll with it all.

Take Care, Cassandra

Haven't read your blog in a while. I can't believe they're closing! I do have to say though, I'm a little relieved that I won't be missing a show (we were going to miss this one). But I am am disappointed too. Next year.
