If you could pick a super-power what would you pick?

I'm excited to say that I think I'm finally ready. The topic of super powers has come up several times lately and I have such a hard time committing to one. I'm not sure. I get excited about everything except being super stretchy.
I think the power I would like...is to stop time. That might sound a little boring and maybe I'll change my mind and wish for super speed, mind reading or super strength, but to stop time would mean that on good painting days I could stop time and stay in my zone until I had painted everything on my mind and finish everything that I want to work on in the studio.

The only problem is that my want for this super power is entirely selfish and that's not what super powers are for.
I had better get back to work because time is ticking.

Obsesión

The last thing my eyes saw before I fell asleep was the page on Dan's computer which read, OBSESSION.
Dan was working on his lecture that he is giving tonight at the Springville Museum of Art. It's open to the public at 6:00 if anyone would like to attend. It's written for educators but every time I hear him speak, especially about what he's speaking about tonight (how we learn) I am inspired as a mother and an artist. So meet me there and we'll discuss.
Although I actually dreamed about the pink-bubble-gum colored mini-parrot I wanted Dan to buy for me and riding horses indoors on scaled-up, blown-up-kid's jumping things like at carnivals with my dad (I'm not joking), in my mind-walk I thought about obsession.
Through obsession I have learned and accomplished at a level I wouldn't have if I had controlled/limited my interests in various things throughout my life. I'm wondering if obsession is or is connected to fire inside of me. I'll think about that. What I do know is that obsessions is dangerous. If my obsession for art making becomes a bubble, I am cut off from everything else, like my family and my church job, and I can become resentful which limits my personal happiness.

Brilliant Dan Barney said something this morning about the way we can learn, connect and see the world differently, enriching out experiences if we look through the lens of that obsession instead of being stuck inside it, in that closed bubble. Actually I said bubble and lens, he said it's more like the obsession is a container and if I am looking into it, it's narrow and limited but if I'm able to go the center of that obsession and look out from inside it then everything I do relates to it and becomes deep and more broad. Brilliant!
