my thoughts - i am in love with the paintings he did of your mom and himself that are all designy.....love. like maybe my favorite work of his ever. not kidding.
I absolutely loved watching it. I'm such a freak, I watched it twice that night. :) It was interesting how I could relate to your dads personality, maybe that's a common artist personality thing no? What I was so interested in was seeing how certain paintings came about from different times in his life. I always wondered how he jumped from doing paintings with musical instruments and puffy guys to elegant lady angles. Very fascinating :)

Hey Cass! Jethro and I stayed up a bit to late the other night and watch the documentary on his lap top. I absolutely loved it. First of all, somehow I missed that you have two brothers...Second of all, I loved LOVED seeing you guys on the documentary. You are some of my favorite people. I think I am even bigger fan than I was of your dad now. Hope you guys are well!
PS. I don't know if I ever told you that seeing your dad's book "Voyage of the Bassett" was the whole reason I started drawing and painting. I stared at the images of the fairies and especially the big orange/red dragon on the rock for hours. I wanted to paint just like him...I'm a nerd :)
My son has been working on an epic drawing of a chess game since he saw the show. He's been adding to it for days. In addition to hunchbacks, knights, and faeries, it also includes a Nauvoo sunstone and a dalek from Dr. Who.
