I stepped out of bed this morning onto a pile of sketches. I could hardly wait to get the kittens out the door so that I could get to work on dancing figures. Obviously the pointe shoes inspired this second dancing painting, but it's more than that. Dancing to me is an outward expression of emotion, of celebration. I've always loved dancing. I loved the hours in class when I was a little girl and dancing into the night when I was a bit older. I remember dancing with my family and watching my mom and dad dance in the kitchen. I have fond memories of playing strictly ballroom with Dan Barney. Now with my little family we celebrate with dance on the coffee table in the family room and in the kitchen and in elevators and any other time. I dance in my studio when I need to stand up and stretch. It warms me back up, heart and soul.
