Atonement

If I could write a brief description of this painting's content then I wouldn't have had to paint the painting, so I'll let it speak for itself.
I submitted this painting to the Eighth International Art Competition: Remembering the Great Things of God exhibition to be held at its new venue in the Conference Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It will be on exhibit at the Conference Center from March 20 through October 11 2009.

I'm such a doofus. Every time I see the announcement for the next international church competition, I say to myself, "This time around I'm gonna enter." Then, somehow, the deadline passes again and I haven't entered again. It's like 2 years between deadlines and I never pull it off. Duh...

On the other hand, this picture is very nice. I like an allegory that's not heavy-handed. Whatever happened to that Emma you did for the last church show? That was great.

p.s. Did you check out that link I posted?

Nigel- I looked up that link and those are some fun portaits. Looks like a good gig.
Emma is hanging in my mom's house. This show will be interesting because it's in the conference center. Let me know if you see it.

Gals...thanks! I think it's one of the best paintings I did last fall.

How cool - you'll get a ton of exposure with it being there for both General Conferences this year.
