The pack said, plant a couple of seeds in a mound. I thought, well... I don't want to waste the rest of the seeds so I planted all of them.
Now I get to brag about my gourd collection along with my pom-pom collection.
Anybody got any recipes for gourd soup? gourd salsa? gourd anything? Duh! What in the world am I going to do with 28 gourds? Maybe I can make some snazzy bird feeders and set up a stand in a parking lot next to those people who sell blankets with big wolf and stallion designs.
That gives me an idea. Maybe I could copy the blanket designs and paint them on the gourds!
There is one thing that is obvious, I have a gift for growing squash, or should I say...several species of Cucurbita. I think it might be sexier to have a gift at growing hot peppers, but we don't choose our gifts, right?
Are there any pageants for this sort of thing?

It could be fun to hold some kind of "what would you trade me for a gourd?" contest.
I've never seen a pageant for gourds, but here in Central Ohio we have The Circleville Pumpkin Show (http://www.pumpkinshow.com/). Your pumpkin looks pretty convincing...

I've seen some really cool, folky, funky gourds painted......I think you should paint them as sculpture. Please! I will buy an original C.B. painted gourd. ps...I am an artist who loves your work....and your sister's too.
I've never even heard of gourds before but you have quite the collection! I like how you have them sitting on the chairs with their audience of little gourds. So creative!
These gourds look like they need to be made into a children's show. I'm so impressed with the fruits of your labors.
I've grown gourds for a few years. LOVE THEM! Here's my tip: Leave them outside. They're going to get really moldy and smelly. Do not throw them away. This is natural. Disgusting, but natural. When they're really light and the seeds rattle inside, they're ready to craft.
