"Goodbye...remember to be kind...and safe...I'll miss you...have fun...I'll be counting the minutes until you get home..." Counting the minutes? Ya I will, because I've got six hours (minus running to the fridge to grab another diet coke and bathroom breaks) to paint. Yeah! Now don't get me wrong, I love my little kittens and Dan Barney more than anything and they are constantly in my heart and mind as I worry and hope that they are safe and happy at school. But... I also really thrive under this schedule. Getting up early agrees with me. I enjoy the whole getting ready for school event. I like to set out a cute snacks for them as I greet them after school and listen to everything that happened. I like doing their homework way more than they do. All of it. The house is tidy and I go to bed exhausted and satisfied because I did everything I wanted to do. Sigh.
I'm currently working on about five paintings. The large one is coming along nicely. I've started a new Tree of Life painting and I have a couple more that are ideas I really need to paint. I'm more productive in the studio even though life just got busier. Strange how that happens.
I really do miss the kittens. Summer felt good. They spent more time in the studio than they have in the past couple of years and even though I didn't get much done, I wouldn't change a thing. Being a mom is the best. Having a job as an artist? It rocks!
