Coda Palm Desert

The Coda at Palm Desert is a beautiful, newly expanded gallery. The Katz and co. always put on a nice show and have a good turn out. They are even kind enough to invite me to stay in their home.
Sometimes my paintings look like people whom I have never met. This lady was standing by this painting and it looked so much like her, even the eye color was spot on.
It's good to have opportunities to explain my work to people who are just being introduced to it for the first time. I answered many questions, especially about Tree of Knowledge, explaining what I meant by those knives over and over.
My favorite part of these shows is when I get to meet someone who has been collecting my work for years and they tell me about where it hangs and why they connect to it.
My 'job' as artist is mainly spent in my studio, quietly exploring the deep abyss of my own soul. Going to these shows is good for me because it reminds me that the work I do has a life beyond me. I also hear and see what people respond to. It's also nice to hear compliments from people who aren't related to me once in a while.

BTW... you look ravishing.

A most wicked set of paintings. Is there something between good and evil, pain and pleasure, and the blade and blade of a double-edge sword? The tree of knowledge can indeed be very painful/fatal if one partakes of the fruit (knives) and doesn't learn from the experience. Well painted!
