Invitation for Collaboration

I thought I had better post a little more information about this invitation for collaboration. I am inspired by Exvotos that express gratitude for an event or an answer to a prayer or honor an individual. They are heartfelt, sincere little paintings. I am also inspired when I hear other people's stories of gratitude. So if you want to share something about motherhood or about your mother or about a mother figure or someone who nurtured you that you would like to honor in an artwork, send it to me.

If I paint your story and put it in an art show, you are under no obligation whatsoever to purchase it or even talk to me again. These little artworks might be included in a book as some future time as well.

Your story will need to be sent to me by the end of February so that I can finish it prior to the show opening on April 30... I think.
So write your little dedication to me from wherever you are and tell your friends. I'm so excited.

Well there really is no other way to put this: I've been blog stalking since I saw an article about you and your sister in the BYU magazine a couple of years ago. Then again in Segullah. Is there a non-creepy way to say I love your work? Well if there is, insert it here.
I love this idea of the Exvotos, which reminded me of another collaboration. I have a friend who started an artist collaboration in Arlington,VA called SPARK. You might find it interesting. You can find the details here: http://artspark.wordpress.com/
Amy Souza is the founder and also a good friend. She is always on the look out for more artists to participate.....tell her Mendy sent you:)
Again I think the Exvotos is such a great idea. There is so much inspiration to be found in the people around us.

Hi Cass, so I just was getting ready for bed, and I thought of your show. I wasn't really planning on writing anything since I was so lucky to have my story used last time, but I wanted to share my thought. All day (most everyday) I find myself counting down the minutes until bedtime. I spend most of my day wrestling my kids and fighting the small battles of the day. I just want to have some quiet time to get things done. Well here I am enjoying my quiet time and the only thing I want to do is open the door to their rooms and hold my little ones again. I miss them.

Mendy- Thank you so much. I'll look up the website. Are you going to send me a story to paint?
