Annie Lennox

A friend of mine (thank you Lori) sent me a picture of Annie Lennox today and out of curiosity I googled her. It made my day. I heard her new song today and it made my heart swell all up and ache. I keep running back to my computer to hear it again and again, all day. She is my rock star idol. Seriously, I've wanted to be her since the 8th grade. I had pictures of her plastered all over my room and my locker. I might have to do that again.

I respect the way she's used her voice as a tool for good, to make a difference in the world. In interviews I've seen, she presents herself as an honest, sensitive, intelligent, beautiful artist. She seems to have many virtues down, including that one I seem so focused on, integrity. In her lyrics, it has always seemed to me that she is writing about my life only one tiny step ahead of me. So many of her songs mark passages in my life, different chapters.

Her new CD is called Songs of Mass Destruction and the song is called, Dark Road. Click on her sight to hear it. Check out the video here. I don't understand the images and haven't yet spent time trying to figure that out because I am can't get past the beautiful, passionate, honest sound of her voice.

You are so right about Annie- she has been my favorite for too many years to say. Did you ever see her in concert ? Brilliant! I never noticed it before but I think you are channeling her. You are so so so awesome!

I had a sweet Eurythmics poster on my bathroom wall growing up. I thought Annie Lennox and Adam Ant were the coolest!! I love that new song - at the very least because everything my big sisters think is cool, must be.

I haven't heard the new song, but I love the song she sang on the Lord of the Rings movie. You do kinda look like her.
