Ooooh Lala!

Our dear friend Laura Mayer came for a visit suddenly I was an actor in a musical. It started the day she arrived. I started singing. I sang and I danced about everything, lyrics flowing like I was on a stage. It was just that kind of week.

We had good times painting in the studio and we canned tomatillo salsa (while I sang, of course.) It turned out really, deliciously well.

I can't say the same for the mint jelly I made tonight. It's actually mint candy, not mint jelly at all. How convenient to have mint candy sealed in little half pint jars. It actually won't come out of the jars. Won't my dad be surprised when he opens up his present to eat with lamb at his birthday dinner tomorrow. I think I'll send a jar to Laura for a special treat.

I'm so Happy

In my fingers I hold a precious little treasure. I so didn't want to be disappointed so I didn't spy or peek. Secretly I had a tiny little bit of hope that I kept to myself. Today though, I was feeling pretty bold and I thought, what do I have to lose? I've experienced triumphs and I've experienced failures, so with that in mind I plunged my fingers into the dirt. I searched around and then some more but I didn't find anything. I dug under the plant was almost out of the dirt and there, right below the plant was a PEANUT! I let out a whoop that was probably heard across the state.

I covered the roots right back up to give my little babies a tiny bit more time to grow. Aaaaah! The best revenge is success. Now I get to make plans... peanut butter?

I got a a package on my doorstep this week that was full of surprises for me and my family. My friend Laura Mayer runs and owns the Art Garden in Ephrata,Washington. She is a very talented gal. Thank you Lala.
