Painting Hilary Weeks

The heat in my studio doesn't work if  it gets below zero so I've moved into the dining room. It's kind of fun because when the family is home they come on in and set up next to me. It's also nice to not get distracted by all of unfinished projects in my studio and all the little piles that need to be organized.

It feels good to be painting again. I've been working on another project away from home for months and to have a few quiet days mixing paint reminds me why I love my job so much.
One if the paintings I'm working on is for Hilary Weeks. We met  a few months ago and I left thinking she was probably the nicest person I ever met. Besides pretty and nice, Hilary is putting herself out there, trying to do some good in the world.
I've done a zillion sketches, warming up and trying to find what feels right for her CD cover. She looks like one of my paintings actually. I think I've finally figured out what I want to paint so...it's time to get to work.

Yay you're back! :)
I found your blog a few weeks ago but it seemed to have stopped and I was getting worried you might have stopped altogether! I've enjoyed your paintings and your blog so much that I asked for your book for christmas and I got it! It's as beautiful as I thought it would be. Thanks for being so very inspiring at a time when I most needed it.
