One must act in painting as in life, directly. -Pablo Picasso

Last week I was approaching my paintings with caution and not getting anything done. This week I just painted. I didn't hold back with the color or the paint. Although it's messier, it feels more natural to me. As I work, the paintings unravel. I want the idea and the painting to develop rather than be confined.
I have three paintings started that I'm really excited about. It's hard to stop working. Even though my brushes are washed and put away for the rest of the weekend, my mind is still in the studio. Sometimes is hard to disconnect.

i love your style and i love no restraint when painting. there is a time for restraint, but it's not the kind of artist you or i am. are. not sure which of those completes the sentence best.
