Eve and the Angelicals

Our band joined Phat Daddy on stage this weekend at Club 90. Jordan’s voice is incredible. I was only a side note compared to her, and glad to be there. I’ll post video footage of Eve and the Angelicals soon. A fan just sent us some footage from the show, filmed from a phone. Our PR boyz are working on it. In the photo below, Jordan is quickly writing out the lyrics on cocktail napkins shortly before we performed…nice.

Our band is more than just a hobby. It’s actually part of a big art project. Jordan and I (and occasionally other ladies) are conducting an inquiry into identity. We are writing, filming, painting, singing, dressing up, researching, committing some harmless misdemeanors and documenting all of it. My favorite project right now is actually an essay I’m writing, The Deconstruction of Identity. No doubt Dan’s PhD. dissertation has influenced me. Dan has been talking to me about what he's learning for the past two years and now I want to do something with it too. This band and all of it is a learning process through art making…and it’s super fun.
Phat Daddy was wildly popular with the crowd. Thanks Perry (picture below) for letting us play with you. It was a blast.

Oh my gosh, that's terrifying. I don't know how you do it. I'd pass out and throw up at the same time.

That being said, I just had my first guitar lesson today. I'm so excited. And my fingers hurt. Even though I already have callouses.

I get to memorize what chords are in what keys this week. And practice strumming Across the Universe and Possession. Apparently, my strumming isn't as cool as I thought it was.

Shoot.

Laura- You are amazing and I wish I was taking guitar lessons. I really want to learn so many things right now. I didn't throw up and pass out(which I do too when nervous) because Jordan was really in the spot light. She's good.
How do YOU find the time. Sheesh you make me feel like a slacker.
grin. Cass
