Mehndi dates back to ancient Indian hunters who would paint their bodies with the paste to ward off evil spirits and keep their families safe from harm. East Indian brides wear Mehndi on their hands and can't do house work until the the temporary tattoos fade. My little ones and I figured we could work both of those angles.
