A Good Omen

Wreck Beach is beautiful place. There are herons down there often, along with a seal that likes to play with us from a safe distance. To some, herons symbolize a good omen. The heron can also symbolize penance. Early Christians, believing that herons shed tears of blood under stress, made this bird the emblem of Christ's agony in the garden and the seat of blood He endured there. (thank you pax)

Also; Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, employed a Heron as a divine messenger.

I also read that they in Wales they are seen as the primal creator and giver of life.
